History of All Precision Manufacturing

In 1987, Ralph Peifer started All Precision Manufacturing in a small machine shed on the family farm. 

Ralph and a small group of dedicated employees operated this cozy machine shop that produced high quality components for Knight Rifle and Mueller Company. Even though the company has grown significantly throughout the years, the mission has remained constant:

Treating our Customers like Friends, and our Employees like Family.

In 1994 the business moved to its current location of 153 N. 5th Street in Nokomis, IL. Our building site is rich in local history.  The original structure was home to the coal mining office that employed many people in Nokomis during the early 1900’s. The building had an addition constructed to serve as the local meat locker and processing plant in the 1950’s - 1970’s.  In 1994, another addition and renovation was completed when Ralph moved his company to town.

In 1996, Jeffrey Howell was employed as operations manager to aide in the expansion of the company and promote an attitude of “Manufacturing High Quality Products that Both Our Company and Our Customers Are Proud Of”.  After two years of steady growth, the company entered into a partnership with Shultz Investment Group and All Precision Manufacturing, LLC (APM) was created in 1998.   The partners included original owner Ralph Peifer, Jeffery Howell, and Bob Schultz.

In 2006, APM added 1,000 sq. ft. of shop floor space and in 2014 APM has constructed a 2,500 sq. ft. addition to accommodate a warehouse/inventory area and additional machine space. Most recently in 2017, APM constructed a 1,600 sq. ft. separate domain next to the main building for storage.

Today, APM is able to offer its customers a spacious 10,000 sq. ft., climate controlled, facility where customer needs and attention-to-detail are the main focus of all of our employees.  

Jeffrey Howell has developed a strong connection with our customers in his 26 years as president, managing partner, and customer liaison.
